The Yoga Path

When talking about Yoga, most people immediately think of the physical practice of different poses and movements that stretch the body and reduce stress. This is one aspect of the yoga philosophy and moreover this is only a very small part that is relatively recent in development. Physically practicing Yoga was originally invented to facilitate the real Yoga work, in that sense: 'The insight and complete mastery of the mind'.

So Yoga really means : The science of the mind and as the 2nd Yoga Sùtra clarifies:

'Yoga Citta Vrtti Nirodhah': To control the modifications of the mind, is Yoga.

All about the Yoga Path

With all the impressions and external influences surrounding us, most people have lost their connection with ‘all that is’ — and therefore also with themselves. It takes discipline and inner work to rediscover the gifts that are our birthright, and to truly feel what it means to live in the ‘here and now’. When we are able to maintain this lasting connection, we step onto a path of enlightenment, strength, and a profound sense of inner peace and trust. Yoga offers the possibility to experience this connection.

Yoga originates from ancient India, and although it remains surrounded by mystery, there is evidence suggesting that the yogic tradition has existed for at least 5000 years, dating back to the rise of civilization. The methods and goals of yoga are universal and depend on the individual rather than on a specific background, culture, religion, or deity. Yoga is a complete science of life.

Yoga is the oldest system of personal development in the world, encompassing body, mind, and soul. It is a union between individual consciousness and universal consciousness. I love sharing my experience and knowledge of what people need in order to live in harmony with themselves and their environment. Taking into account the relationship between body, mind & soul, there are unique methods to maintain balance — methods that combine physical wellbeing with breathing and meditation techniques that support inner calm and have an even deeper effect on the energetic body.

THE 8-LIMBED PATH

A holistic approach for body, mind & conscious living

Yoga is much more than movement alone. It is a path of awareness, balance, and connection — with yourself, your body, your breath, and the way you live.

Within my guidance, I work from the 8-Limbed Path of Patanjali — an ancient holistic philosophy that brings together body, mind, and consciousness, offering a practical path that supports you in creating more calm, clarity, balance, and connection in daily life.

Each layer of this path supports a different aspect of wellbeing — from the way we relate to ourselves and our surroundings, to breath, movement, focus, meditation, and inner peace.

At BY N’JOI, these elements are approached in a personal and modern way, tailored to your needs, energy, and phase of life.

THE 8 LIMBS

  • YAMAS - Consciously relating to the world around you (ethics, connection & energy)

  • NIYAMAS - Deepening the relationship with yourself (self-care, reflection & inner growth)

  • ASANA - Strengthening and balancing the body (yoga & conscious movement)

  • PRANAYAMA - Breath as a tool for regulation and energy (breathwork & nervous system support)

  • PRATYAHARA - Creating space beyond external stimuli (turning inward & reducing overstimulation)

  • DHARANA - Developing focus and mental clarity (concentration & attention)

  • DHYANA - Meditation and deep presence (awareness & stillness)

  • SAMADHI - A state of deep harmony and connection (inner peace & alignment)
